‘The Edge of Reality’
Oil paint over ground of spray paint and acrylic on linen canvas
60 x 101 x 3.5 cm
$4,000
This expressive work continues my practice of capturing cloudscapes as a metaphor for human emotion and experience. Based on my own reference photography of a spectacular Shoalwater Beach sunset on 11 January 2026, the scene felt almost unreal — prompting questions about perception and authenticity in an age of AI imagery, while inviting a reconnection with the real world through the shared ritual of watching the sunset.
