Finally I have clawed out a few hours to paint! Here are today’s adventures in purple! 💜 . . I haven’t been able to touch this commission for a few weeks. The time I normally set aside for Art has been consumed by work over the last month. This is not something I can complain about in these uncertain times, but it is certainly impacting the development of my new collection. I have to take this as a lesson in being patient and enjoying the ride. 🙈 . . #cloudpainting #contemporarypainting

Mind blown ..... Plans for a new collection are underway. I’m having lots of fun working on visual research, planning sketches for paintings and experimenting with materials. . . . I’m also taking this opportunity to channel my inner Caravaggio and pander to my love of skulls, combining them with my beloved cloud forms. I’m loving the contrast of the stark structure and the floaty ethereal forms. . . I’ve also made a new art materials discovery: Transparent Gesso, which will allow me to prime my wooden panels but leave the beautiful wood grain visible in the final artwork. . . We had an otherworldly adventure on #devilsdyke this morning! It was so good to get out in the wilds, especially on some badass electric mountain bikes🚲⚡️. It was misty, cold and muddy but my god was it fun! The fact that I am so wrecked from months of not enough exercise that I can’t get off the sofa, and that I have a bruised arse is beside the point, I’m still buzzing! 😁 . . . For anyone who thinks e-bikes are ‘cheating’, think again. It was a proper work out and I pushed myself way harder than if I’d been on a normal bike. New hobby Alert!! As the world crumbles around us, I’m finding mys
As the world crumbles around us, I’m finding myself reassuringly distracted by creating these new worlds of abstract cloudforms. 💥These explosive works are created by digitally abstracting my cloud paintings. This particular one is the result of abstracting my painting “Solar Flare”. I’m really enjoying this process of evolution which is what the artistic practice is all about. I love that I can use my physical work as “seed paintings” for new works to grow out of. I may now use this new image as inspiration for a new painting! And so creating a generative process.!😄 It’s an adventure in which I never truly know where I will end up, and that is all part of the fun. These new works will be published in a whole new format (well, new to me at least) early next year. A format that has blown my mind this week as I have delved deep to educate myself.. 🧐 This crazy voodoo of which is speak is the Crypto Art Market and NFTs - essentially publishing rare digital art on the blockchain.
